RYO OKAWARA

大川原亮

1986年神奈川県横浜市生まれ。2009年多摩美術大学グラフィックデザイン学科卒業。

2012年東京藝術大学大学院映像研究科アニメーション専攻修了。

「アニマルダンス」(2009)が文化庁メディア芸術祭で奨励賞受賞。「空の卵」(2012)はシュトゥットガルト国際アニメーション映画祭にてロッテライニガープロモーションアワードを受賞。オタワ国際アニメーション映画祭、アヌシー国際アニメーション映画祭等多くの映画祭にノミネート上映。現在はフリーランスのアニメーション監督、イラストレーターとして活動中。
斉藤和義「マディウォーター」「一緒なふたり」「アバリヤーリヤ」、Seiho×cero「SHANTI」数々のMV、ライブ演出映像を手掛ける。町田洋原作の船場センタービル５０周年記念アニメ「忘れたフリをして」監督。
​精力的に活動中。

 

RYO OKAWARA

Ryo Okawara is an animation director and illustrator based in Japan.
Born in 1986 in Yokohama, Kanagawa, he graduated from the Department of Graphic Design at Tama Art University in 2009, and completed the Animation program at the Graduate School of Film and New Media, Tokyo University of the Arts in 2012.

His film Animal Dance (2009) received the Jury Selection Award at the Japan Media Arts Festival.
His film Sky Egg (2012) won the Lotte Reiniger Promotion Award at the Stuttgart International Festival of Animated Film and was screened at international festivals including the Ottawa International Animation Festival and the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.

He has directed numerous music videos and live visuals, including works for Kazuyoshi Saito and Seiho × cero.

He also directed Pretending to Have Forgotten, an animated film created for the 50th anniversary of the Semba Center Building, based on the original work by Yo Machida.
